Mankind in all ages loved to war. There is no escape from it, such is the nature. Reasons for this may be the most ridiculous ... not to mention about the reason. From the banal desire to become famous ... to petty insults about nothing contemptible. It seems that people just love to kill. Striking confirmation of this is a compilation of strange wars in human history.

Australian army against the emus

In 1932 the population of emus in Australia is out of control. According to experts, over 20 000 birds voracious ran through the desert and no one, in principle, did not prevent, but the gallant Australian Army. The military headquarters of the country decided to teach bred ostriches, and declared, "for fun" war on them, the results of which were not funny at all for the poor birds.
During the week a group of soldiers armed with machine guns, ambushed in the desert on an unsuspecting "enemy". It was a bloody November. Seven days were killed in 2500 emu, and then the Australian army... surrendered. The soldiers refused to participate in a brutal massacre. As it turned out later on that there was one  reason - the courage of birds. Kill the emu actually was not so easy. Š’attle, even a few machine-gun bullets, strong birds continued to run ahead of the Australian heavy-duty soldiers.

The war in Transnistria

In 1992, the wreckage of the Soviet Union in Transnistria war broke out. About four months were fighting for something that had no longer any value. Indeed, it was strange to see late at night ... soldiers from both the warring parties together drank in neutral territory. The soldiers even entered into contracts not to shoot each other the next day, if recognized on who drank the night before. A similar thing happened regularly. One soldier wrote in his diary: "The war, as a grotesque show. During the day, we kill our enemies, and then during the night we drink with them. What a strange thing this war ...". The war in Transnistria claimed the lives of 1,300 people from both sides.

The longest war

Ironically, the longest war that was in our civilization, has managed without a single victim. We are talking about the war between the Netherlands and the island of Scilly, located at the south-west coast of Britain. No one remembers who first and why, in 1651 declared this war, but the fact remains - for the time of "war" is not killed a single person. About the war remember only... in 1986, and then the peace treaty was concluded. If all wars were so ...

Thus ended the war .. Losses in the war: one pig.

In winter 1838, American lumbermen began felling timber in the disputed area, which angered the United Kingdom. Britain pulled its troops in the area. In response, U.S. forces also tightened. It seemed that war was inevitable. For eleven months the troops were kept in anticipation of hostilities, but they have not yet begun.
However, the U.S. military, because of an error quartermaster service, received a lot of beans and pork. After eating beans, they organized the "gas attack" by threatening the British with loud sounds. Although hostilities had not begun, the victims could not be avoided. Idle for 11 months died more than 550 people from both sides ... from diseases and accidents.

A bucket of contention

This war began in 1325, when the rivalry between the independent city-states of Modena and Bologna had reached its peak because of a simple wooden bucket. The problems began when a detachment of soldiers raided Modena to Bologna, and stole a wooden bucket in one of the wells. Wanting to get back the stolen thing, Bologna,  declared war ... and for 12 years unsuccessfully trying to regain their lost wooden bucket. To this day, the trophy is kept in Modena.
