Fratricide in the law.

In the 15th century in the Ottoman Empire, civil war broke out between the contenders for the throne, as a result of which the Sultan Mehmed was I, uniting together all the earth. His grandson, Mehmed II to avoid this kind of destructive infighting introduced the practice of killing the brothers, who also may have views on the throne. The bloodiest in this respect was the reign of Mehmed III, slay 19  blood brothers and stepbrothers. Tradition overturned Sultan Ahmed I in the 17th century, replacing the murder to prison.
