Death is prohibited by law.

On the territory of the Norwegian town of Longyearbyen on the island of Svalbard, it is illegal to die. This is due to the fact that in the permafrost buried bodies do not decompose and attract the attention of polar bears. Therefore, all seriously ill patients are sent to other parts of Norway. If people still die in Longyearbyen, in any case, the deceased will be buried in another place.
